Haliburton hails 'football play' that helped Pacers beat Bucks

The Indiana Pacers beat the Milwaukee Bucks 115-114 on Tuesday after a dramatic ending, which involved a four-point play.

Tyrese Haliburton was the man of the moment for the Indiana Pacers, after landing an incredible four-point play to beat the Milwaukee Bucks 115-114 on Tuesday.

With the clock running down and the Pacers needing a three-pointer to tie, Haliburton took a pass along the left sideline, before landing a three over the top of Giannis Antetokounmpo while being fouled.

Making the free throw, Haliburton put his team a point ahead with 3.4 seconds left. Antetokounmpo then missed a three at the buzzer to seal the win for the hosts.

The point guard finished with 14 points and 10 assists, while the win has the Pacers level with the fourth-place Bucks in the Western Conference, with both sharing a 36-28 record.

"It's like a football play," he said, referencing the fact his team-mates crossed over one another. "It was great to see it work.

"The first time we ever ran the play in training camp two years ago, I made the shot the same way. I haven't got the ball since. I usually hate running the play.

"I've shot that shot enough to know where I am on the court. It's just a matter of getting it off. I jumped higher than I normally do. It just went in.

"It's the stuff you dream of. I'm thankful my team-mates trusted me. Down the stretch, I made some boneheaded plays."

It was just the fifth time in the regular NBA season that a team had converted a four-point play when they were three points down in the final 10 seconds of the game.

With Pacers great Reggie Miller watching on as a commentator, coach Rick Carlisle could not hide his delight.

"An amazing sequence of events," he said. "What a play, and Reggie [Miller] was in the building. They'll be talking about Tyrese's shot for a lot of years."

"There's definitely a lot of Reggie moments in this building," Haliburton added. "I'm just trying to make my own."
