NBA: James returns to Lakers but White lifts Bulls with 36 points
LeBron James scored 17 points in his return after a seven-game absence, but the Lakers couldn't slow Coby White in the Bulls' 146-115 win
Coby White scored 36 points, Josh Giddey flirted with a quadruple-double and the Chicago Bulls spoiled LeBron James' return from injury with an impressive 146-115 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday night.
Luka Doncic scored 29 of his 34 points in the first half and hit eight 3-pointers, while James had 17 points after a seven-game absence.
Neither superstar could do a thing to slow the Bulls, who scorched Los Angeles' normally sturdy defense on the way to their seventh win in nine games. Chicago's 146 points were 12 more than the Lakers had allowed in any game this season.
Matas Buzelis scored 31 points for Chicago, and Giddey recorded 15 points, 17 assists, 10 rebounds and eight steals. White was dominant while hitting six 3-pointers, and eight Bulls scored at least nine points on the fifth stop of a six-game road trip.
Rui Hachimura made his own return from a 12-game absence with a knee injury, making the Lakers' roster largely whole - but Los Angeles then played perhaps its worst defensive game.
Reaves and Doncic kept it close through halftime, but White scored 12 points while Chicago steadily pulled away with a 39-point third quarter.

Antetokounmpo leads Bucks past Kings
Giannis Antetokounmpo had 32 points and 17 rebounds and the Milwaukee Bucks shook off a sluggish start to beat the Sacramento Kings 114-108.
Kyle Kuzma added 14 points and 14 rebounds for the Bucks, who trailed 25-15 after one quarter. Brook Lopez scored 21 points, Kevin Porter Jr. had 18 and Taurean Prince added 11.
DeMar DeRozan scored 22 points for Sacramento, which has lost six of eight. Keon Ellis added 20 points and Jonas Valanciunas had 16 points, seven rebounds and five assists.
Both teams played short-handed. The Bucks were without Damian Lillard (right calf) for a second consecutive game, while the Kings continued to be without injured center Domantas Sabonis (right ankle) and point guard Malik Monk (illness).
The Kings shot three consecutive airballs and missed two free throws in the final minute.
Milwaukee had only one player - Antetokounmpo - reach double figures scoring in the first half. They finished with six overall.
Giannis scored 22 of his 32 in the third quarter.

Siakam’s late flurry powers Pacers
Pascal Siakam scored eight of his 26 points over the final 3 1/2 minutes and Myles Turner made five 3-pointers and finished with 22 points to help the Indiana Pacers hold off the charging Brooklyn Nets 108-103.
Indiana swept its two home games against Brooklyn this week and has won four straight and six of seven.
Turner also had eight rebounds and three blocks after his sister left the court on a stretcher during pregame warmups. All-Star guard Tyrese Haliburton returned from an injured back that kept him out of Indiana's previous three games and recorded his 10th straight double-double with 16 points and 12 assists to go with eight rebounds.
Trendon Watford scored a season-high 26 points to lead the Nets, who have lost three straight and 13 of 15. Cam Johnson added 20 points, nine rebounds and five assists.
The Pacers closed the third quarter on an 11-0 run to take a 90-70 lead but allowed Brooklyn to open the fourth quarter on a 13-0 run. Then, after giving up a dunk, the Nets scored eight straight to get within 92-91 with 4:30 to play.
Brooklyn made only three baskets over the final 4 1/2 minutes after closing to 92-91.
