NBA: Cavaliers, Thunder extend streaks
The Cleveland Cavaliers have now won 14 straight games, while the Oklahoma City Thunder have won seven in a row after Sunday's NBA results.
Max Strus recorded team-highs of 17 points and nine rebounds to help the Cleveland Cavaliers to a 14th consecutive win, a 112-100 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday.
The Cavaliers became only the second team in NBA history to win 14 straight games in a season while scoring 110 or more points in each victory. The Boston Celtics accomplished the feat during their NBA championship season of 1985-86.
All five starters scored in double figures in Cleveland's latest win. Strus led the way while accounting for five of the Cavs' 19 makes from 3-point range, while Donovan Mitchell finished with 15 points and Darius Garland and Evan Mobley had 13 each.
Milwaukee lost for the second time in as many nights despite Giannis Antetokoumpo's 30 points and nine rebounds and a 22-point effort from Damian Lillard.
The Cavaliers never trailed after taking a 9-8 edge less than 2 1/2 minutes in. Strus had 14 first-half points to propel Cleveland to a 62-52 lead at the break, and the Cavs put the game out of reach in the fourth quarter with a 13-0 run that stretched their advantage to 102-84 with 4:35 left.

Gilgeous-Alexander stars as streaking Thunder dominate Nuggets
The Western Conference leaders are on quite a run of their own, as the Oklahoma City Thunder pushed their winning streak to seven games with a 127-103 rout of the Denver Nuggets.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander outperformed Nikola Jokić in a matchup of top NBA MVP candidates as the Thunder pulled away in this clash of the West's two best teams. Behind the All-Star guard's 40 points and eight rebounds, Oklahoma City extended its lead atop the West to 12 games over the Nuggets and Los Angeles Lakers.
The Thunder also received 26 points, nine rebounds and eight assists from Jalen Williams, while Isaiah Hartenstein had 10 points and 11 rebounds while helping keep Jokic in check.
Jokic did manage 24 points, 13 rebounds and nine assists, but the three-time league MVP went just 10 of 23 from the field and had only nine points after half-time.
Michael Porter Jr. also scored 24 points to go along with 15 rebounds for Denver, which had a two-game winning streak snapped.
Despite the Nuggets recording the game's first 10 points, Oklahoma City opened up a 74-64 lead early in the third quarter following an 8-0 run. Denver was able to close the gap by period's end, however, with Jamal Murray's 3-pointer with 28.3 seconds left trimming the Thunder's edge to 86-83 entering the fourth.
Oklahoma City dominated the final period, however, shooting 73.7 per cent while outscoring the Nuggets by a 41-20 margin.

The Thunder began separating behind a 9-0 spurt, during which Williams scored seven points, to go up 103-91 with under 7 1/2 minutes left.
Leonard's overtime buzzer-beater lifts Clippers over Kings
The Los Angeles Clippers are on a more modest winning streak, a three-game stretch extended with Sunday's narrow 111-110 overtime victory over the Sacramento Kings that was decided by Kawhi Leonard's buzzer-beating hook shot.
After DeMar DeRozan put the Kings ahead by a 110-109 score by making two free throws with 21.6 seconds remaining in overtime, the Clippers held the ball for one final shot. Leonard dribbled down the clock and drove into the lane before hitting a spinning left-handed shot that fell right as time expired.
Leonard struggled much of the night, going 7 of 19 from the field while scoring 17 points, but the Clippers got 29 points and 11 assists from James Harden and 22 points and 14 rebounds from Ivica Zubac to move 1 1/2 games ahead of ninth-place Sacramento in the Western Conference.
The Clippers also overcame a seven-point deficit late in the fourth quarter and the absence of head coach Tyronn Lue, who missed the game due to pain in his back.

DeRozan led all players with 31 points while adding 10 assists and seven rebounds. Zach LaVine finished with 30 points for Sacramento and Jonas Valanciunas posted 17 rebounds along with seven assists.
The Kings appeared to have the game in hand after LaVine knocked down a jumper with 1:48 left in the fourth quarter to stake his team to a 97-90 lead. The Clippers scored the final seven points of regulation, however, with Harden hitting a game-tying floater with 11.9 seconds on the clock.
The teams later traded the lead four times in the final minute of overtime. Harden countered a DeRozan jumper with one of his own to give Los Angeles a 109-108 edge with 29.7 seconds to go before DeRozan was fouled on the ensuing possession.
