Man Utd secure Champions League spot at city rivals' expense
Manchester United's 2-2 draw at home to Manchester City confirmed their spot in next season's Champions League on Sunday.
Manchester United secured a Champions League place at the expense of their city rivals following a 2-2 draw with Manchester City at Old Trafford on Sunday.
The point puts third-placed United four points and one place above City with just one game remaining in the Women's Super League this season.
City were two goals up after 42 minutes through Laia Aleixandri and Rebecca Knaak, but were pegged back before half-time through a Grace Clinton header.
United grabbed their equaliser through Melvine Malard in the 68th minute, with the United substitute slotting past Khiara Keating against the run of play.
Just two minutes later, United were down to 10 after Aoife Mannion was shown a second yellow, but the hosts held on to rubber-stamp their place in Europe's top competition.

Elsewhere, WSL champions Chelsea made it 18 victories from their 21 league games this season and maintained their unbeaten record by beating Tottenham Hotspur 1-0.
Catarina Macario's first-half penalty was the only goal of the game, with Chelsea's lead at the top of the table now 12 points.
Everton won 2-0 in their Merseyside derby against Liverpool thanks to goals from Katja Snoeijs and Karen Holmgaard in either half.
The Toffees were forced to play the final eight minutes of the match with 10 players after goalscorer Holmgaard was sent off for two bookable offences.
Aston Villa won 3-2 away to West Ham United in an entertaining match that saw four goals in the first half.
With the score 2-2 at the break, Chasity Grant netted the winner in the second half to secure a result that puts Villa within three points of a top-half finish.

Already-relegated Crystal Palace earned a 2-2 draw at home to second-bottom Leicester City, thanks to a 98th-minute equaliser from Abbie Larkin.
Leicester's Shannon O'Brien had netted what looked like it would be a winner just four minutes earlier, though the hosts dug in to earn just their 10th point of the season.
