Lucknow Super Giants captain Rishabh Pant says it is unfair to point the finger of blame at his poor form, after his side were beaten by the Mumbai Indians on Sunday.

LSG suffered a third defeat in their past four matches, as the Indians earned a convincing 54-run victory at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Ryan Rickelton (58 off 32) and Suryakumar Yadav (54 off 28) helped the Indians to 215-7, with Player of the Match Will Jacks also adding 29 off 21.

LSG toiled to 161 all out with skipper Pant making just four off two balls, while Jasprit Bumrah (4-22), Trent Boult (3-20), and Jacks (2-18) all contributed with ball in hand.

Speaking after the defeat, Pant reflected: "[I am] keeping it very simple. 

"I'm not thinking about [his form] too much because in a season like this - where things are not going your way - you're going to start questioning yourself as a player, and that is something you don't want to do.

"When the team isn't doing well, you've got to think about that eventually because it's a team game. Yes, one player definitely makes a difference, but every time you take out the individual, it's not the right thing to do, I guess."

Data Debrief: Pant a man out of form

The India batsman has not been in the best of form in recent matches, and that continued against Mumbai.

Pant has just 110 runs from nine innings in this IPL season for an LSG side who are now sixth in the IPL standings.

That represents an average of just 12.22, while his strike rate reads at 98.21.
