'Far too early' to say Liverpool are best in the world, says Slot
Arne Slot offered his reaction to Thomas Frank lauding Liverpool as the best team in the world after their victory over Brentford.
Arne Slot insists it is "far too early" to describe Liverpool as the best team in the world, despite the Reds topping the Premier League and Champions League tables.
Liverpool are six points clear at the English top-flight summit, with a game in hand on second-place Arsenal, while they have won all six of their matches in Europe's premier club competition this term.
Brentford boss Thomas Frank said the Reds were the "best team in the world" following their 2-0 victory at the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday.
While flattered by the remark, Slot believes it is premature and that his side still have a long way to go.
"I think it's far too early to say these things. We [are yet] to face a lot of teams," the Liverpool boss said. "But it's always nice to get compliments from a manager who has proved himself in the Premier League.
"When we go out there, we want to win a game. You would think as number one [in the Champions League table], it is the best position to end up at, but it is such a strange league table.
"Every week, even if you face teams lower down the table, they are the hardest team to face [because you have not faced them before]. You cannot judge the table and say who is the best right now, we haven't [played] the same teams."

Liverpool put their 100% Champions League record on the line when they face Lille on Tuesday.
The Ligue 1 side have already beaten defending champions Real Madrid and their rivals Atletico Madrid in this season's competition, while they arrive at Anfield unbeaten in 21 matches.
"They have deserved every single point," Slot added. "They haven't been lucky with the fixtures, and that's the reason I'm so impressed."
