Luka Doncic says the Los Angeles Lakers are "willing to go to war" during the NBA playoffs, as he gears up for his postseason with the franchise.

The Lakers, who are seeded third in the Western Conference, commence their first-round series with the sixth-seeded Minnesota Timberwolves at Crypto.com Arena on Saturday.

Minnesota finished the regular season strongly with 17 wins from their final 21 games.

But Doncic, whose 30.9-point career scoring average in the postseason is second only to Michael Jordan's 33.5, is confident in Los Angeles' chances of going all the way to glory.

"I think we have a great team," the five-time NBA all-star said. "We have guys that are willing to go to war.

"Everybody's staying together. The chemistry is high. I think we do, for sure, have a chance [to win the championship].

"I like big games. Playoffs is a fun time. Everybody plays 100%. It's just fun to be out there."

Doncic is set for what promises to be an intriguing battle with seven-foot-one center and four-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year, Rudy Gobert.

"Since I came to the league, I like to play pick-and-roll," the Lakers guard added. "I like to get a center on me."

"He thinks that there's not a person in the world that can guard him," Lakers coach JJ Redick said of Doncic. "So, I think he takes that seriously, that matchup in particular."
