Aubameyang denies Al-Nassr point, allowing Al-Ahli to close in
Al-Nassr lost to Al-Qadsiah in the Saudi Pro League, opening the door for their hosts, and Al-Ahli, to put them under pressure.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored a late winner to help Al-Qadsiah clinch a 2-1 victory over Al-Nassr, who are now looking over their shoulders in the Saudi Pro League.
Al-Nassr thought they had salvaged a late draw through Sadio Mane, but former Arsenal captain Aubameyang denied them a share of the spoils.
Al-Qadsiah started brightly, but did not find a breakthrough until the 35th minute. Aubameyang was denied from inside the box by Bento, but Turk Al Ammar was on hand to turn in the rebound.
Cristiano Ronaldo tried to find a breakthrough before half-time, but failed to test Koen Casteels, with Al-Nassr rarely creating openings to truly trouble the Belgian.
Mane equalised with their only shot on target in the second half; Otavio played a lovely lob over the top to take out the hosts' defence, and the winger carried it into the box before firing past Casteels.
But Al-Nassr were caught out at the back again four minutes later. Bento rushed off his line to close down Nahitan Nandez, who chipped a cross into the box, and Aubameyang's looping header landed in the empty net.

Al-Qadsiah now sit fifth, just two points behind Al-Nassr, but level on points with fourth-placed Al-Ahli, who stormed to a 5-0 victory against 10-man Al-Fayha earlier on Friday.
Riyad Mahrez stole the show for the hosts, playing a part in all five goals as they kept themselves in the hunt for a Champions League place.
He set up all three goals in the first half, with Ibanez heading in twice in the 17th and 37th minutes before Ivan Toney added their third on the stroke of half-time.
Orlando Mosquera received a straight red card three minutes into the second half after handling the ball outside his box as things went from bad to worse for Al-Fayha from there.
Mahrez was fouled by Faris Abdi to win the penalty that Toney converted in the second half before the former Manchester City forward deservedly got on the scoresheet himself with nine minutes remaining, finishing from inside the box.

Elsewhere, Damac leapfrogged Al-Kholood after beating them 3-1 in Friday's early game.
Georges-Kevin N'Koudou netted two penalties in the first half to put Damac in control, and though Myziane Maolida halved the deficit in the second half, Nicolae Stanciu made sure of the points late on.
