Wolves 4-2 Tottenham: Cunha nets on return as Pereira's side earn fourth straight win
Matheus Cunha made his eagerly anticipated return from suspension for Wolves, and he did not take long to make an impact against Tottenham.
Matheus Cunha scored on his return from suspension as Wolves made it four straight Premier League wins with a deserved 4-2 victory over Tottenham at Molineux.
The Brazilian made his much-anticipated comeback as a second-half substitute, after serving a four-game ban for the red card he received in an FA Cup defeat at Bournemouth.
And he slotted home when one-on-one to put this contest beyond Spurs late on, as the pressure on Ange Postecoglou continued to mount.
Rayan Ait-Nouri had earlier volleyed Wolves in front after just 85 seconds, while Djed Spence's bizarre own goal doubled their advantage before half-time.
Mathys Tel turned home Brennan Johnson's cross to halve the deficit in the 59th minute, but that goal sparked Wolves back into life as Ait-Nouri robbed Cristian Romero before teeing up Jorgen Strand Larsen for a tap-in.
Richarlison narrowed the gap again when he headed in five minutes from time but, less than two minutes later, Cunha pounced on some loose play from Lucas Bergvall and sprinted clear before calmly finishing past Guglielmo Vicario.
Wolves are up to 16th in the table and 14 points clear of the bottom three with just six games remaining, after Ipswich Town squandered a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 with Chelsea.
They are within one place and two points of Spurs, who suffered their 10th away league defeat of the campaign, in 15th.

Data Debrief: Four-midable Wolves
Wolves have won four consecutive Premier League games for the first time, while achieving the feat in the top flight for the first time since January 1972.
Consistency in their lineup is definitely a factor, having named the same starting XI in five straight league games for the first time since December 2019 under Nuno Espirito Santo, despite having Cunha available again here.
Ait-Nouri's opener after just 85 seconds was Wolves' quickest ever Premier League goal, and they went on to score four at Molineux for the first time since beating Watford 4-0 in March 2022.
Spence's bizarre own goal doubled their lead and was the first of three self-inflicted Spurs setbacks, with only Sheffield United and West Ham (both seven) putting through their own net more times than Tottenham (six) in the Premier League since the start of last season.
Tel gave Tottenham hope by halving the deficit, while becoming the first teenager to score for them on successive Premier League appearances since Dele Alli in February 2016.
However, it proved a false dawn as Strand Larsen quickly restored the two-goal buffer. The Norwegian is only the second Wolves player to score in four straight Premier League games, after Henri Camara 21 years earlier.
Cunha was also on target later on to seal a 17th league defeat of the season for Spurs, with only the bottom three clubs - Southampton (26), Leicester City (22) and Ipswich (19) - losing more.
