West Ham 0-2 Crystal Palace: Mateta scores twice as visitors extend unbeaten run
Jean-Philippe Mateta struck for the third game running as Crystal Palace posted an away win against a hapless West Ham at London Stadium.
Jean-Philippe Mateta scored twice as Crystal Palace defeated 10-man West Ham 2-0 at London Stadium to extend their unbeaten run in the Premier League to five games.
After a forgettable first half, Mateta opened the scoring three minutes after the restart as he latched onto a through pass from Eberechi Eze and fired low past West Ham goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski from outside the box.
West Ham were reduced to 10 men after Konstantinos Mavropanos received a second yellow card in the 80th minute for a high boot on Mateta before the visitors sealed the win from the penalty spot.
Substitute Eddie Nketiah was fouled by Fabianski inside the box and Mateta converted the spot-kick in the 89th minute to bag his fourth goal in three league games.
The London derby victory helped Oliver Glasner’s side leapfrog West Ham to 12th place with 27 points from 22 matches, while Graham Potter’s West Ham sit one point behind them in 14th place.

Data Debrief: Palace's dynamic duo
Mateta and Eze were once again instrumental for Palace as they continued their good run of form at London Stadium.
Eze has now provided eight assists for Mateta in the Premier League, with no Palace player assisting a team-mate more often in the competition's history.
It was also the third consecutive game in which Eze had bagged an assist for Glasner's side.
Mateta, meanwhile, is Palace's top scorer with eight goals in the Premier League this season and 11 overall.
He has now scored 32 league goals for Palace, but the opening goal here was the Frenchman's first to be scored from outside the box.
