Champions Trophy: Rohit will not retire from ODIs after leading India to glory
After leading India to Champions Trophy glory on Sunday, Rohit Sharma will not be stepping away from ODI cricket just yet.
Rohit Sharma confirmed he will not retire from ODI cricket after leading India to Champions Trophy glory against New Zealand.
The Men In Blue claimed their third Champions Trophy crown following a four-wicket victory over the Black Caps in Dubai on Sunday.
Rohit led India's charge with 76 - including a 105-run stand with Shubman Gill - as they successfully chased a target of 252.
He has now skippered them to successive ICC titles following their triumph at last year's T20 World Cup - after which he retired from the 20-over format.
However, Rohit said there was "no future plan" and that "what is happening will keep happening", when asked if he will play on in ODIs.
"I'm not going to retire from this format, just to make sure that no rumours are spread going forward," he told reporters at a press conference.
"The crowd have been magnificent. It's not our home ground, but they've made it our home ground.
"When they come out and get behind the team, it makes a huge difference.
"We've played some really good cricket throughout the tournament. To come out here and win is great."

Rohit also hailed India's spinners, who produced 26 wickets throughout the tournament, including four during the final.
"Not just this game, but from the beginning, I thought our spinners in particular - there is so much expectation when you play on a pitch like this - but they never disappointed," he added.
"We used that to our advantage. We played some very good cricket and our bowling was very consistent."
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli saluted his team-mates and said the future was bright for India's teams.
"We wanted to win a big tournament, and that's what we've ended up doing," he said.
"It's an amazing feeling, lovely to be playing with such amazing youngsters. So much talent in the dressing room, and they're taking Indian cricket forward in the right direction.
"We're only happy to help and share our experience and try to make an impact when we get a chance. These guys are stepping up in a massive way and that's why we're such a strong team."
