Liverpool silenced the doubters with win at Man City, believes Slot
Liverpool are now 11 points clear at the top of the Premier League after beating Manchester City and Arne Slot reflected on a big week.
Arne Slot thinks Liverpool went some way to silencing their critics with the 2-0 victory at Manchester City on Sunday.
Mohamed Salah and Dominik Szoboszlai were on target as the Reds moved 11 points clear of second-place Arsenal at the top of the Premier League.
Victory comes just four days after a 2-2 draw at Aston Villa, after which some in the media had suggested there were signs of a mini wobble from Liverpool in recent weeks.
Slot took a philosophical view on that belief and said the approach still does not change, even after a huge victory like this.
Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: "Three days ago we had a draw at Villa and people told me we weren't in a good place and then three days later we win and it changes again.
"We work every single day to achieve this and it is three months of very hard work to maintain this.
"There is no secret. We are 11 points clear but Arsenal has one game in hand. The best attack we had didn't end in a goal. You always have to adapt to the challenge you have.
20 - Manchester City now trail Liverpool by 20 points - the most they have been behind the league leaders at the end of a day since July 14th 2020, when they last failed to win the title and Liverpool last won it themselves. Throwback. pic.twitter.com/UYpA1zQeir

"A week ago we experienced how difficult Wolves at home was. They will always be difficult games, like today.
"It is easier for us to not get excited because we know what we have to put in. This result was more about defence than attack. It is normal for fanbases to be positive and it is important to understand why we are where we are."
Liverpool actually had fewer shots (16 to eight), shots on target (five to four), and possession (66 to 34 per cent) than City.
But the 20-point gap they have to fourth-place City is the biggest gap Pep Guardiola's side have had to the Premier League leaders since July 2020 when Liverpool went on to win the title.
Slot added: "The first half played out better for them than for us, apart from the score. I don't think they had too many big chance but it felt like they were going to score. A lot in the second half, I can't remember them having a big chance.
"Ideally, we have the ball more than the other team. But City when it comes to ball possession, they like it a lot and are so comfortable on the ball. The only chance you have to win here is to defend very well."
Liverpool have a 95.8% chance of going on to win the title, according to Opta's supercomputer.
