Redick: I liked that we were angry against the Wizards
The LA Lakers routed the Washington Wizards 134-96 on Thursday, with coach JJ Redick having plenty to be pleased about.
Los Angeles Lakers coach JJ Redick piled the praise on a much-changed team after a 134-96 blowout win over the Washington Wizards on Thursday.
The victory takes the Lakers' record to 27-19, while they are now fifth in the Western Conference.
That result came despite being without Anthony Davis, while rookie Dalston Knecht was eventually ejected after being called for two technical fouls and arguing with the referee.
"I asked the guys to play with an edge and I thought they did that. We were the instigators, did not intend for that edge to be taken out on the officials by a couple of our guys." said Redick.
"But I liked that we were angry tonight. Overall, execution was great. It's a big deal when three of your top seven guys are out of the lineup and you can bring guys in... and they make a big impact.
"Shake [Milton] in particular led that, great spirit and energy, got us organised and scored with the basketball as well. Trey [Jamieson III] was awesome.
"That group even to just finish the last few minutes of the fourth, they just played the right way. It was indicative of how we played the entire night, we played the right way on both ends.
"The guys should be proud of their effort and execution tonight.

Shake Milton recorded 21 points, four rebounds and four assists, while shooting seven out of eight from the field in the win, while LeBron James had 24 points and 11 assists before resting for the fourth quarter.
In his post-game press conference, Redick was quick to point out the importance and professionalism of James, despite his advancing years.
"Don't overlook the fact that he's 40 years old in year 22 with every accolade under the sun," he said.
"He comes out on a Thursday night that's a non-nationally televised game against a team that's really struggling & he's the tone-setter,"
