This season has not been as spectacular as the last when Naples won the Scudetto led by Kvaratskhelia. Despite this, De Laurentiis still wants to keep him, but the big clubs are circling, although none of them value the Georgian player at one hundred million. His youth could justify such a big investment, but he has lacked consistency this season and failed to have any real impact in the Champions League. 

He is good, very good, but not exceptional. He is 23 years old and still has room to grow. He may not be being pursued by Europe’s six or seven leading clubs, but he is by those just below. The question is who will invest, given that both Barça and Milan are broke and in Germany nobody pays such crazy prices. That just leaves the Premier League and not much else. 

Having confirmed that Xavi is set to stay on as Barça’s manager, the club are taking huge strides towards strengthening the squad for next season, with an attacking left winger near the top of the list of priorities. Nico Williams, Dani Olmo or the Georgian Kvaratskhelia. 

The player is open to making the leap to a big club, one that will make him mature as a footballer, with Barcelona acting as a springboard to position himself among the best of his generation. A deal would still need to be done with Naples given that the €50 million price tag is well out of reach of the Catalan giants. The Georgian has a five-year extension offer on the table, including a substantial pay rise, but Khvicha wants to play with the big boys.
