Du Plessis and Starc propel Capitals to victory over Sunrisers
Mitchell Starc surpassed 200 T20 wickets and Faf du Plessis starred with the bat as Delhi Capitals beat Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday.
Delhi Capitals claimed a seven-wicket Indian Premier League win over Sunrisers Hyderabad as Mitchell Starc and Faf du Plessis took centre stage.
Starc inspired the Capitals with the ball, taking 5-35 and, in the process, surpassing 200 wickets in the shortest format.
Aniket Verma plundered 74 from just 41 deliveries, with his knock including 11 boundaries, but only two other Sunrisers batters managed to get into double figures - Travis Head falling to Australia team-mate Starc on 22, while Heinrich Klaasen succumbed to Mohit Sharma (1-25) on 32.
Kuldeep Yadav took an impressive 3-22 as the Capitals bowled out the Sunrisers for 163.
Du Plessis picked up where the bowlers left off to get the Capitals' chase off to a flying start, as the veteran campaigner hammered his way to a 26-ball half-century before slicing Zeeshan Ansari's delivery, with debutant Wiaan Mulder taking a fine catch.

Zeeshan marked his debut in style with two more wickets, sending Jake Fraser-McGurk (38) and KL Rahul (15) packing after a dangerous flurry from the latter.
But Zeeshan (3-42) was the only Sunrisers bowler to perform up to standard, as Tristan Stubbs (21 not out) and Abishek Porel (34 not out) rounded out a statement win with a flourish, the latter smashing a huge six to seal a comprehensive victory with four overs to spare.
Data Debrief: Life in the old dogs
In the heat of Visakhapatnam, it was two veterans who came up with the goods for Delhi.
Starc's five-for was his first in T20 cricket, while he is the first Delhi player since Amit Mishra (5-17) back in 2008 to take five wickets in an IPL match.
He is now on 201 wickets in the format, and leads the way for dismissals in the IPL this season, with eight.
Determined not to be outdone, 40-year-old Du Plessis then turned in a stellar performance with the bat, as he became the third oversees player aged 40 or over to score an IPL half-century, after Chris Gayle and Adam Gilchrist.
