Curry makes NBA history by reaching 'pretty impressive' 700 20-point career games
Steph Curry made Golden State Warriors history and matched Michael Jordan during victory over the Sacramento Kings on Friday.
Steve Kerr paid tribute to Steph Curry's "pretty impressive" achievement, as the Golden State Warriors guard made history during their victory over the Sacramento Kings.
Curry scored 20 points in the Warriors' 132-108 win at Golden 1 Center.
That made him the first Golden State player in NBA history - and 21st overall - to reach 20 points in 700 career games.
It was also the 36-year-old's 20th such performance since turning 35, equalling Michael Jordan for the joint-most by any NBA guard during that time.
"That's pretty impressive," head coach Kerr said of Curry who, with the Warriors ninth in the Western Conference, highlighted the importance of enjoying a strong second half of the season.
"We have a 27-game playoff push," he added. "We finished before the [NBA All-Star] break 3-1, and the Dallas game [on Sunday] and tonight are huge to keep momentum and maintain it coming to this first stretch out the break.
"You don't want to talk it up too much, because every game is important, to be honest.
"But from practice yesterday - [and the] shootaround this morning - we were pretty locked in, [there] was a good energy, a good understanding about what we needed to do to win this particular game, and now we've got to do it again."
