Raducanu and Swiatek pull out of Billie Jean King Cup qualifiers
World number two Iga Swiatek and 2021 US Open champion Emma Raducanu have pulled out of next week's Billie Jean King Cup qualifiers.
Star attractions Iga Swiatek and Emma Raducanu have pulled out of next week's Billie Jean King qualifiers in Poland to manage their workload.
Raducanu reached the quarter-finals of the Miami Open last week and moved back inside the world's top 50, but is still managing her body carefully after a spate of injuries in recent seasons.
The 2021 US Open champion also had a scare at the Dubai Tennis Championships in February, when she was targeted by a man exhibiting "fixated behaviour", and will take some time to recuperate instead of competing in the first stages of the team event.
Raducanu's representatives described it as a "difficult decision", adding: "She needs a little space in the calendar to best look after her body."

Swiatek is also set to have a small break having reached the last eight in Miami.
The five-time grand-slam champion was playing that match with added security after receiving abuse from a spectator during practice.
She said: "I know that this is not the information that fans, especially Polish ones, wanted, nevertheless it is the right decision for me for now
"Now it's time for more balance, focusing on myself and my training. I keep my fingers crossed for the girls and the whole team."
Poland, without Swiatek, will take on Switzerland and Ukraine from April 10-12, with the winner of the three-team group qualifying for the main event later this year.
Great Britain have been pitted against the Netherlands and Germany, with captain Anne Keothavong calling up Katie Boulter, Sonay Kartal, Harriet Dart and Olivia Nicholls.
