De la Fuente extends contract with Spain to Euro 2028
Luis de la Fuente has already won two trophies with Spain, and his work has been rewarded with a contract extension through to 2028.
Luis de la Fuente will remain Spain's head coach until the end of Euro 2028 after extending his contract.
The 63-year-old's current contract was set to run out after the 2026 World Cup. However, he will now lead La Roja in their title defence at the next European Championship.
De la Fuente first took charge of Spain in December 2022 following Luis Enrique's resignation after Spain were knocked out of the 2022 World Cup on penalties by Morocco.
He also led Spain to the Nations League title in 2022-23, their first in the competition, before overseeing their Euro 2024 glory, in which they won all seven of their games in Germany, beating England 2-1 in the final.

De la Fuente has managed 23 games in charge of the national team, losing just once (W20 D2), boasting an 86.96% win rate across all competitions.
Since he took over the side, they have also scored 55 goals while conceding just 14.
Spain are next in action on March 20, when they face the Netherlands in their Nations League quarter-final, having topped their qualification group at the end of last year.
